There is something about spring and wearing florals that makes me so excited and feel like a school girl again!
Growing up in Kentucky, spring was always a highly anticipated time of the year because we were so ready to ditch the snow and freezing temps – yes despite it’s southern accent and hospitality, the Bluegrass’ weather was much more in line with New York and Chicago! But springtime…man it’s so gorgeous! That is one thing I do miss about living there since I moved to California (not that I would EVER complain about our weather), but Louisville’s spring blooms and fall’s colorful leaves are a sight to see! That said, the style of dress in spring was always floral and colorful and people were ready to wear short sleeves! This dress reminds me a lot of home and I have gotten quite a bit of wear out of it recently. It was dressy enough for my KTLA fashion segment, and also the perfect luncheon look when I headed to a Michael Kors Sports Spectacular charity event a few weeks back and paired it with a denim jacket. If you are headed to the Derby, well first of all you are lucky, and second this is my idea of a perfect dress for the Downs. These red heels would make a great statement and any color hat in the rainbow would match perfectly (though I would probably go with black, pink or red!) Shop my look below:

Thanks Margaret! I love the print!
You’d definitely fit right in at the Derby in that dress, so we’ve gotta make this happen for next year!

Thanks so much Rachael! Appreciate the comment 🙂
Such a cute dress! Spring seriously is the best! It’s not very exciting here in Vegas, but in Seattle they have beautiful cherry trees that blossom. This time of year makes me miss home, too 🙂

I know it’s crazy we don’t get seasons very much on the west coast Jamie! Hope you make it back sometime soon!
