We flew to St. Louis last weekend for our two of our long term friend’s wedding and it was so beautiful!
I love a good occasion to dress up and a wedding is always a nice excuse! I borrowed this beautiful dress for the weekend and loved it! The silk, the floral print, soft blue and ruffles around the arms. It was such a great fit too. I went neutral with the accessories and pulled my hair in a sleek low bun. I really wanted the dress to do the talking.
My Do’s for what to wear to a summer wedding:
-Have fun with your look, play with color and accessories – I look a statement earring with a simple dress
-Dress appropriately for the venue (church, beach, farm, etc)
-Wear comfortable shoes so you can dance the night away
-Don’t be afraid to dress up, too casual is never cute for a wedding
-Wear a small bag that can hold a few things, but that isn’t bulky to carry around – I love crossbones for this reason!
My Don’ts for a Summer Wedding
-Don’t upstage the bride
-Don’t wear a short hemline, cut outs or anything that is too revealing
-Don’t wear white
-Don’t forget to check the dress code if there is one (black tie or white tie, anyone?)
-Don’t do too much – if your dress is the statement-maker, keep jewelry or accessories to a minimum
-Don’t wear a hat, you’ll block everyone else’s view
How was your weekend? Since I traveled so much last week, we were happy to be at home a lot and rested up on Sunday. On Saturday I went to a blog conference to help me learn more ways how to grow my blog, and it was really cool. I would love to hear from you guys on what you would love to see more of, and what drives you to check blog posts instead of just checking social media. I love having this platform and creative outlet and want to keep growing it and providing useful posts, tips and tricks for you guys. Thanks so much for stopping by today and I’ll be back tomorrow with another new post here with lots of cute Smith photos, so make sure to come back! Shop today’s look below:
