WHAT’S GOOD IN MIAMI

My cute Farm Rio Dress is on sale HERE

I grew up in Kentucky and we vacationed in Miami every year when I was in high school! I was obsessed and convinced I would live there one day! I ended up moving to Cali, but my love for Miami still runs deep. I finally got back to MIA last month after almost five years and it’s still pretty much the same! Amazing warm weather, beautiful beaches, delicious food and rich culture. The only things that have changed are the hottest hotels and restaurants, so I thought I would do a round-up of some of my new favorite spots.

Where We Stayed…

We stayed at Nobu Hotel, which is connected to the Eden Roc Hotel and it was great. We loved our room, the location is just off the strip, but an easy Uber to all the restaurants and nightclubs, and the food and beach was great! They have Malibu Farms Restaurant at the hotel, which we ate at during the day for breakfast and lunch and it was so good. I have eaten at Malibu Farms in Malibu before, so was excited when we booked the hotel to know it was there. They also obviously have a Nobu restaurant in the hotel and that says it all! Who needs to even leave the hotel when you have these great options! Since we were on a relaxing girls trip we didn’t leave the hotel during the day and only ventured out to restaurants around town at night. During the day we headed to the beach at the hotel and it was so beautiful! They actually do food and drink service at your chair on the beach and it felt like we were in Europe! It was so awesome. Two beach chairs come with every room when you stay at Nobu Hotel, so all we had to do was rent one extra chair and an umbrella and we let the Frosés be delivered! It was so relaxing! We didn’t want the days to end! There are also four different pools you have access to at the hotel if you prefer that to the beach, including a Nobu specific pool with the most amazing views of the water and a DJ on the weekend as well as poolside service. It was heaven!

Where We Ate…

When we weren’t eating at Malibu Farm during the day, we ventured out to some new hot spots in the city at night! I love doing research before I head to any city to see what the popular spots are and Miami has plenty! One thing to note – you need to book reservations well in advanced because the restaurants all book up fast these days! I actually couldn’t even get reservations at Casa Tua, ZZ Sushi, or Carbone even a month out! Those are all great spots though if you can swing it! We ate at Casa Tua last time we went to Miami and it was so good and romantic and Doug and I ate at Carbone in Las Vegas on our last trip and it was bomb! Highly recommend them both! ZZ Sushi is a membership club, but you can find reservations on Resy sometimes and it’s owned by the same owners as Carbone and Parm and I hear it’s great! We ended up at Matador Room the first night, which is at the gorgeous Edition Hotel, and it was so yummy! They had outdoor seating with a view of the jungle-like pool and it was so fab! It’s more Carribean and Latin food (although they pretty much have anything you could want including spicy shrimp, charcuterie, tacos, steak, and more, and it’s to die for! Thanks to Chrissy Teigan for that rec! The second night we went to Strawberry Moon, which was super hip! It’s in the new Goodtime Hotel and pink and by the pool and it’s a great vibe! The food is amazing and is Mediterranean themed, but really you could get anything! Make sure to get the rolls – they are dreamy and they help soak up some of the amazing cocktails you’ll want to order! For our final night we went to an oldie, but goodie, Cecconi’s! I always love the food and the atmosphere there! And the service was superb! We were very happy eating outside there. It’s in Soho House there, which is another great place to stay in Miami.

Is It Safe…

I was a bit concerned about travel to Miami during Covid times, but I felt really safe once we were there. The hotels, ubers and restaurants all mandated mask wearing. Also we were able to eat outside at every restaurant so it was awesome. I honestly cannot wait to go back!
