I am so beyond excited to finally share our beautiful nursery for our baby boy to be!
Photos by Valorie Darling
As soon as we found out we were expecting a baby, and let’s be honest probably before, I started dreaming about what the nursery would look like. Thanks to Pinterest (make sure you are following me for more nursery and home inspo), there were so many beautifully designed rooms to help guide me and provide inspiration, so I lived on there for a while figuring out what wanted for the room. I was originally convinced I was having a girl, so I loved the pink and white modern luxe rooms, but once I learned we were having a boy, I knew I could no longer incorporate pink! That’s when I just imagined a beautiful white gender-neutral nursery with little pops of color for fun.
Since I had a hard time narrowing down my ideas and my budget was not huge, I was so thankful when online design company Havenly.com told me they would help me design the nursery on whatever budget I gave them! I am literally so excited and in awe of how it turned out and think it will be the perfect place to bring baby McFarland home from the hospital to. The white, gray and gold will be a timeless room that he and we love! Use the code STYLEBABY20 for 20% off any Havenly room design until Dec 31!
The designer and I worked together to find lots of beautiful and affordable pieces to make the space cozy, elegant, child friendly, parent friendly and inspirational. This is the only room in our new home that is fully completed and the room that everyone wants to be in! All of the big furniture is from Delta Children’s (sold at Target, All Modern, Wayfair, etc) and it is great quality and very affordable. We sourced the awesome lighting fixture that really elevates the room from Lamps Plus, the beautiful gold “You Are So Loved” decal from LoveElodie.com and the cutest bow tie decals from TinyFrenchy.com. You can shop the entire room below.
As for the DIY’s, we tried to do paint and incorporate a vintage dresser, but ultimately ended up buying a new nice one from Target and switching just out the knobs to make it unique. I also painted cheap picture frames that I found at Michael’s gold instead of spending a fortune buying gold frames for the animal prints we bought. And did you know it’s not that hard to hang your own wallpaper? Our designer found this amazing gold detailed paper from Hygge & West and my husband was able to hang it himself! And the last detail worth mentioning is the mini library! This was a must-have for me and what’s so cool is all of my friends and family gave us their favorite childhood books at the baby showers to fill up the shelves! It turned out better than I could have imagined!
One of the biggest changes we made to the room was done in partnership with California Closets to build baby McFarland the chicest custom closet! We were able to sit down with a designer and explained our needs and wants and right there in front of our eyes she designed our dream baby closet on a computer and they came back in a few weeks to install it in just a few hours! This will be a great closet not only for a baby, but with the movable shelves it will also grow with him – his closet is already better than mine! We are so happy with the way it turned out.
Thanks so much for stopping by – shop the whole room below and let us know what you think in the comments!
