Happy New Year! As many of you know, we renovated our new house from top to bottom last year! It has been so much fun to see the major transformation and a big part of it is lighting! We got to pick new lighting for our entire house – kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, livingroom, exterior and more! You might not realize how much lighting plays into the decor, but it’s a make or break for every room in my opinion. I reached out to Lamps Plus because they had so many lights I loved, and got to work with them on a few lights for the house! We wanted a major statement for our grand entryway and fell in love with this amazing one from design Jamie Young sold on LampsPlus.com. I love the black and brass combo and how modern and cool it is. I didn’t want something too formal because our entire home is more California casual vibes and this one fits right in. We are obsessed with it!
Lamps Plus Donovan 13″ Wide Antique Brass Pendant Light
For our master bathroom we did all antique brass as the hardware and thought this gorgeous pendant light would add just the right touch of modern glamour over our soaking tub. We still need to hang art over the tub too, but this bathroom feels like a modern spa and it’s the perfect spot to relax!

We chose this beautiful white and brass flower light for the guest room and are so happy we did because it literally makes the room glow! Right now it’s more of a reading or hang out room for us and it’s actually so warm and cozy feeling in there – we think it has a lot to do with the light!

We haven’t done much to our playroom for Smith yet, except choose this beautiful brass drum light! It’s modern and elegant, yet feels like the perfect light for this room! I could also see this light in a master bedroom or baby’s room.

The exterior of our house is going to be phase two of our home project as we still want to paint the entire house, but the one thing we did were replace some completely outdated exterior lights with these beautiful black modern outdoor wall lights from Lamps Plus, and believe it or not, they have actually made a huge impact! The house looks so much more modern and inviting now because of these lights. That’s when you really realize how important choosing the right lights is!
