Great feminine print in a new modern cut dress.

Every once and a while I come across a new designer that I love.  In this case, that designer happens to be Hunter Bell.  Though I never watched Fashion Star on NBC, which she was on, I learned about her at a shoot I did with Louis Roe last fall.  I started following her on Instagram and really loved her designs.  It just so happens we met at a mutual friend’s house in New York this past spring and totally hit it off.  We have seen each other a few times since and she gets prettier and sweeter every time; the latter is hard to come by in the uppity fashion world (at least in my opinion).  We are  both also still southern girls at heart so I think we bonded over that right away and the rest as they say, is history.  Anyway, this is the first dress of hers I am wearing on the blog and I can’t wait to see what she does next.  She has a way of mixing feminine, flirty and edgy vibes into her pieces with a perfect balance.  I love the cool shape of this dress, the way it drapes and then the flirty ruffles and prettiness of the marbled/watercolor print.  Shop the whole look below and remember, as my mom always told me, a little bit of kindness goes a long way and you guessed it – it’s free!

I was at KTLA the other day for a segment and when the anchor and I both showed up in burgundy, I knew a tried and true trend was right under my nose!  I hunted high and low for the best burgundy finds on the market right now – and believe me there are a lot of great picks!  From bags to shoes, sweaters, jackets and pants – this deep red color is a fantastic way to pump some life into your fall wardrobe.  Shop my picks by clicking the photos above or the corresponding links below.  Happy shopping!

Tess Giberson Striped Sweater // Elizabeth Cole Aeryn Earrings // Nicole Miller Ponte Fit and Flare Dress

Asos Matador Felt Hat // Rebecca Minkoff Sally Slip On Sneakers // 7 For All Mankind Leather-Like Skinny Pants

Joe’s Jeans Ali Heel //  Loft Burgundy Deco Fluid Ankle Pants // Rebecca Minkoff Love Crossbody Bag

Leith Town Pleated Skirt // Sam Edelman Balfour Haircalf Flats // Ann Taylor Faux Leather Moto Jacket

I don’t know why, but booties and layers make everything seem more chic!

This look seems pretty basic at first glance, but the real trick to looking effortlessly chic is pairing together small details that make one standout look.  I did that here with the embellished booties, the shirt tied at the waist and the majorly distressed denim paired with the coziest card sweater.  Black and white together are a classic combo, but I promise they will make heads turn look whether you are headed to the office or happy hour.  The pop of color with the red lip really is the cherry on top.  Shop the entire look below:

I was so excited to get this new full floral skirt I wore it the first day I got it!  Some blogger babes and I were headed out to a new restaurant called Faith and Flower in Downtown LA and this is the look I went with. I usually like to make every look a bit edgy and not so feminine, but this look was just too perfect to pass up and the girls loved it!  How about the embellishment on the collar and the heels?  So chic!  Shop my look below:

This week we have finally been seeing the first signs of fall in LA and I have to say I am excited for the change up in wardrobe!

Finally, I can wear a pair of winter boots!  I am by no means a fan of super cold or dreary weather (reason #100 as to why I live in LA), but there’s nothing wrong with a little chill in the air and a few days this week I felt it!  It’s always fun to get into a new season because I have been stocking up on new gear and can’t wait to wear it!  Cozy sweaters, scarves and boots are exactly what this girl has been craving!  I love this simple but sophisticated look perfect for daytime or even a casual date night to the movies.  The oversized cut of the super soft sweater mixed with distressed skinny jeans and my new fashion-forward Ahnu boots is the definition of effortless chic!  Shop the look below:

Ahnu Octavia Boots, Brandy // Calypso St. Barth Venice Dropped Shoulder Cashmere Sweater // Old Navy Rockstar Distressed Jeans // Spun Scarves by Subtle Luxury Diamond Tribe Scarf // Celine Nano Luggage Bag (similar HERE and affordable version HERE) // Jennifer Fisher Mini Nail Cuff

I get super dry skin in the winter, especially because Los Angeles is a very dry climate year round, so it’s important for me to switch up my skincare and beauty needs for richer, more luxurious treatments.  You also have to switch up your lipsticks for more fall colors and and foundation for something that is a bit more moisturizing.  All of these products here are my favorites right now and are perfect for the season ahead.  See below for my comments on why I love each of them and if you are in the market for some new beauty goods, click the photos above or links below to shop!  Let me know if you have a favorite I should try this fall by leaving me a comment!

Kai Bathing Bubbles (so luxurious – my favorite smell) // Chanel Hydra Beauty Creme (I used to have dry skin before using this at night) // Essie Spa Foot and Leg Cream (new from Essie and it’s perfect for dry feet and after shaving your legs) //

Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer (now that summer is gone you need to keep your tan; if you want to splurge here is the most on the luxurious one that I also use: La Mer Gradual Tan Moisturizer) // MAC Frost Lipstick, New York Apple (I love this shade for fall – and frost is very on trend right now) // Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash (doesn’t dry out your skin with winter coming) //

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream (I use this lovely cream every night before bed) // Leonor Greyl Pre-Shampoo Oil Treatment (luxurious hair treatment for dry hair – I use it year round) // Dolce and Gabbana Sheer Radiance Primer (Gives and extra bit of moisture and helps foundation glide on easily)

When it’s dreary out there is no better way to brighten your day than with the perfect coral colored coat!

Can we just talk about how chic coats are these days?  Even just a few years ago I feel like there weren’t great affordable options on the market, but now I am loving the trendy and WARM pieces, including this amazing coat!  It is such a statement maker and will dress up any jeans and tee look or be a great addition to a dress with tights.  Another great thing about a boiled wool one like this, is it’s not too heavy so it would be super chic with a little fur vest over it to add one more dimension to make the ensemble even more interesting.  I would also love to see some contrasting colored scarves with this.  But if you are running to a casual date night, a look like I have on is perfect!  I always talk about faux leather jeans, but come on, they go with everything, and when it is fall/winter in LA you will see me living in these with more casual plaid button-downs!  Chic and effortless!  Shop my whole look below and check out the other fab coats at
