This year my family and I needed a new Christmas tradition after my grandparents passed away, so we brainstormed and couldn’t think of better place to spend the holiday together than Miami! We often went there on vacations when I was growing up and in the winter there isn’t any better weather. Read on for more about our trip and to shop the look.
Whenever I go to Miami I love dressing up and wearing color. Miami is such a chic and vibrant city – I love the energy. This was my outfit for Christmas dinner because I wanted to be cozy as the temps drop a bit at night, but it’s still so warm there I didn’t have to bundle up. I have had this sequin jacket in my closet for two years now and have only worn it once so I packed it hoping to get some wear out of it and I did. There is nothing better than being festive in sequins during the holidays. This skirt seems like the perfect Miami skirt and I look forward to wearing it in the spring too.
Travel tips: We stayed at the Loews Hotel South Beach and it was a lovely resort. The staff, service and food was amazing. They also have beautiful grounds and a perfect location. If I had a complaint it would be too many kids at the pool and not enough sunny chairs – but still great overall and so dog-friendly, which was a must! We walked everywhere in South Beach, including dinner and drinks several nights on Lincoln Rd, one of my favorites stops. For Christmas dinner we braved the crazy wait (2.5 hours) and finally had Joe’s Stone Crab after hearing rave reviews for so many years. It was delicious and the absolute perfect Christmas dinner. If you go and can stand the wait – it’s really good. My tip is to head down the street for drinks to pass the time during the wait.
