My husband and I have been long overdue, in my opinion, for a vacation! We have been so busy with life and work and house hunting that planning a trip has fallen by the wayside, so we decided before taking a big trip in August (we are thinking Portugal and Spain), we could use a last-minute weekend getaway! After living in LA for over nine years you might find it hard to believe, but neither of us had ever been to Ojai. Sure I heard amazing things about it back when I covered celeb weddings during my days at E! News, but other than that, I just knew it wasn’t near the beach or vineyards and therefore it wasn’t on my high list of priorities! Boy was I wrong! We finally went to the famed Ojai Valley Inn and Spa and I have to say I cannot wait to go back. It was understated luxury, the best views, food (we ate at Olivella and Oak Grill) and service, plus the weather was beyond perfect. R&R was what the doctor ordered and that’s exactly what we got. We spent three days there, but it refreshed us and made for an awesome weekend. If you are looking for a deal at the hotel, try staying Sunday through Wednesday – that’s what we did and got a better rate!

P.S. There is also a cute little town in Ojai to shop and eat in. We only went into town one night to Azu and it was yummy. But we also heard Suzanne’s is good and for Mexican Agave Marias.
