A simple way to make a plain cotton dress look chic in the winter is by layering with a sweater, jacket and maybe a scarf.
Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. We celebrated my sister’s birthday at a fun Mexican restaurant in LA called Mercado on Friday night and it’s one of my faves because the queso, guac, and spicy margs are some of the best in town! Saturday we went to the launch party for the new Nuna Leaf + Wind, which Mr. Smith and I recently got and LOVE, and then we went to a little winery in Malibu for more bday celebrations. It was our first time at Rosenthal Wines and it was super relaxed and fun. I’ll definitely go back, but next time without the baby… lol. He was a perfect angel, but everything is not as relaxed when you are worried about him the whole time. I am learning the balance of when to take him and when to hire a sitter. Neither is easy. #NewMomProblems
On to the outfits… I recently wore this easy layered look on KTLA for my winter layering segment. I think layering is the best way to make any outfit more fashion-forward and interesting. It doesn’t take a lot of money either as all of these pieces, except for the bag and boots were under $30. Don’t be afraid to play with prints and mix colors too. My tip is stick with neutral base colors and then add a fun print like I did with the scarf.
