AT HOME BLOWOUTS TIPS

This post was created in partnership with Living Proof.

There’s nothing like a good blowout, especially when you can do it yourself at home! I am so excited to share a few of the blowout tips I’ve learned along the way from the years I’ve spent working with amazing stylists in LA! And thanks so much to Living Proof for partnering on this post with me! I am a huge Living Proof fan. Keep reading for more tips and links to all of the styling products from their re-launched Style Lab line I used below!

To get started, spray the amazing Living Proof Style Lab Blowout all over your damp hair! It will not only provide heat protection, but it will also make it faster to blow out your hair. It also and molds and locks in the style you create with the brush for less brushwork overall!

how to do a blow out

Take your fingers and roughdry your hair without a brush to get out the extra moisture – I like to roughdry until my hair is about 70 – 80% dry.

After you roughdry your hair, you should section your hair off to make blow-drying more effective and manageable.

Now grab a round brush and blow out little sections at a time with your dryer. Keep the nozzle of the dryer pointed down to cut down on frizz and flyaways. Start at the roots with the brush and round the brush out to the ends, following the brush with the nozzle of the dryer. If you like your hair a little flipped out at the ends like I do, you can then take the round brush on the ends and focus the brush there with the dryer (this takes the place of a curling iron). Once your hair is completely dry, take the pieces around your face and twist back a few times to create a natural wave back towards your ear.

Finally, tame the frizz and polish up the look by applying the new Living Proof T.B.D. Multi-Tasking Styler! In addition to using it on damp hair before styling, you can also use this product on dry hair if you want to add some texture to your locks! To have found a product that can tame, smooth and polish or deconstruct to give some texture is truly amazing.

And it’s that easy! I also added a little Living Proof Flex Hairspray to keep my look in place all day long.
