I love heading home to visit my friends and family in Louisville and this trip was long overdue!  Read on for details from my trip, plus my city guide!

Being born and raised a southern girl in Louisville I sometimes crave a slower pace of life and that good ole’ southern hospitality!  Louisville never fails to disappoint in those areas and if you are visiting be sure to show off your brightly colored clothing to highlight your bright personality – everyone loves color there!  Side note, I was recently planning a trip to Myrtle Beach and I was looking for recs on where to go and where to eat and wanted another blogger to help me out, but couldn’t find anything!  I started thinking I need to do my own “Favorites” list for LA and Louisville so here goes the Louisville edition (these are purely my personal opinions, so take it as seriously as you want to, but if you’re headed to the Bluegrass state and need some ideas I hope these recs will help):

Best Pizza in Louisville:  Bearno’s (it’s a local chain) – I love the Mama Bearnos pizza, which is the works and I get it every time I come home.

Best Restaurant in Louisville:  Harvest in Nulu – great atmosphere and great menu, plus in a location where you can walk to shops, bars and others restaurants.  **Old school Fine Dining try Jack Fry’s  **Oh and I love my KY Mexican food – a great hole in the wall is El Caporel and there is also Los Aztecas

Best Outdoor Bar:  Garage Bar – great people watching, cheap drinks and good late-night eats, not to mention close to other bars and restaurants.

Best Shopping and Walking:  Bardstown Rd in the Highlands area and Lexington Rd in the St Matthews area (near the old Vogue Theater – Clodhoppers and Homemade Pie and Ice Cream are a great place to start).

Best Park in Louisville:  Cherokee Park (in the Highlands neighborhood) – beautiful scenery, people watching, walking and biking paths

I am so excited for summer and warm weather!  It means new shorts and short sleeve tops for this girl!

You can never go wrong with a black and white combo look and especially by layering it with a little red moto jacket.  I know by investing in the perfect black shorts and a fashion-forward structured panel top I’ll get a lot of wear out of each of them separately, mixing and matching both.  The same goes for the jacket.  Jackets are definitely investment pieces great for the office, chilly LA nights and all year around!  All three are from Nordstrom, which is one of my favorite places to shop in LA or online!  They always have a great mix of high and low pieces and everything is so on-trend.  I got this sophisticated and chic look from there for a date night, GNO or a lunch meeting.  Shop the look below!

It’s finally sandal season and this girl could not be more excited.  Get your pedicures done and your shorts out of storage because you are going to want to show off these hot sandals this summer!  I have said it before, but I’ll say it again – I think the two things every girl should invest in is a good handbag and shoes.  I invest in one or two nice pairs of shoes per season and these picks above are definitely in the running for me.  I am loving espadrilles, lace-up heeled sandals and the gladiator trend this year.  You won’t regret pulling the trigger on at least one of these nine pairs to dress up your fab feet!  Happy shopping!

My friends and I often talk about our beauty and haircare routines and share secrets regarding what we like and what we don’t, so I thought I would share the hair products I can’t live without with you!  From my blow dryer, to my brushes and every shampoo, and masque – here is what I use and love!  And let me start out by saying I have a lot of hair, fine stands, colored, very dry, naturally wavy and I style the heck out of it often – so if your hair sounds similar to mine you might like a few of these.  I am also not afraid to tell you I am one high-maintenance hair girl and love trying the latest and greatest on the market! The temps are warming up and it’s time to invest in shades to cool you off this spring and summer!  Whether you stick to classics in terms of color and shapes or branch out this season with a pop of color or round or geometric shape, with these picks you can’t go wrong!  There are so many new cool sunglasses on the market – I love the ones that are straight across the top, vintage-inspired throwbacks, and the thick, oversized statement sunnies.  Let me know which are you favorite and shop them all below!

I love investing in a great new handbag in spring!  The weather is getting better and so will your accessory game.  Whether you like to carry the same handbag year-round or get a new look every season, there is something for everyone in this week’s Editrix Picks.  These bags are my top picks for you for right now.  Think colors, prints and still invest the big bucks in the everyday bag you can get lots of wear out of.  Also, keep in mind if you dress more conservatively on a daily basis, a bag is the perfect way to let your personality and sense of style shine through.  I always preach about handbags and shoes because those, in my humble opinion, are your key staple items that you should love and are of quality.  Spend a little more to get what you really like and what will look nice no matter how hard you are on the bag.
